The ideas that I had tried and removed. (Mainly due to scope. I didn’t want to introduce too many things in this first book. Too much to track)

I was originally going to have POV’s for Jack and Ravio. But at the end, it was too Young Adult, so I scrapped that idea and decided to make those supplemental chapters outside of the book. Still working the editing out, but their story is locked down.
I was also going to include a dog for the sake of adding a dog, but as I was writing, the dog had very little impact and influence. It felt like I was forcing it. I might include a different pet animal in the future.
I was also going to include a more mystical treasure hunt like The Goonies or Finding Ohana style, but I decided to keep it more realistic. I was going to have caves and a backstory of how pirates landed in Alaska and hid treasure, but I decided to keep it more Bushcraft realistic.
I didn’t want to make Links too mystical. He has a back story which I wrote and might include in future posts if people want to read it.
I also wanted to include Alaska gold mining history, but again it was too much,.
I purposely called it Treasure Hidden Garden because it was more oddly more memorable than Hidden Garden Treasure.
