- Start small. Don’t try to write a novel. Write a thought first.
- Use a program like speechify to have it read you words back to you. You can use different voices and speeds. I’ve read my words dozens of times and each time it all sounded the same to me. Well, have someone else do it.
- Don’t be afraid to write something that won’t be in the book. It’ll still create excellent backstory that you can fall back on if you are trying to figure out if it’s within your character arc.
- Consume media for the story, not for the genre. Stories are retold, recycled, and reused. Watch and read old media for this reason to learn.
